Managed IT Services - Case Study 4

A Registered Training Organisation with over fifteen years’ experience in the field of private training found little need for IT assistance, when their computer systems broke down, they called upon the managers with the most IT experience to resolve the issue.

As the years passed and technology became more prevalent in the work force, the managers started spending valuable time away from their current tasks to resolve computer issues and increase their technology literacy.

The Problem

Throughout the year the organisation assists hundreds of businesses in developing their workforce. This creates a heavy workload for their entire management team. When productivity levels were reviewed over a period of time it became clear just how much care and attention was being diverted to computer maintenance from certain managers.

Although IT is very important to a company’s infrastructure, it was obvious that the heavy time spent by managers in regards to computer maintenance was becoming detrimental to their other tasks. The training skills the management team had to offer were much more valuable to furthering the business. Rather than continuing to pull their talent in too many directions, the choice was made to upgrade their IT support system.

The resolution

Logic Network was brought in to evaluate the current system. Instantly, Logic Network identified some serious issues. Much like the practice of using in-house managers as the in-house IT support, the phone and computer system were greatly out-dated. This would impede future productivity and also explained many of the technical issues that had already taken place.

Once the core network and server infrastructure was rebuilt, the resulting system was modern and efficient. The functionality issues were eliminated and in its place, the organisation was left with a sound structure that would encourage future development.

Logic Network also created an IT environment designed to closely monitor the system and manage updates. The IT is now working with greater efficiency and so is the management team. No longer distracted by IT, the management has grown stronger and more valuable to the future growth of the business.
